www.JoshGuide.com How to Find a Job in the Caribbean It is possible to land a job in the Caribbean island, but the competition can be fierce, especially if you are a foreigner. For example, if you are moving from another country the wait for a work visa can last more than two months, according to Tropicjobs.com, a website specializing on jobs in the Caribbean. Furthermore, according to the site, you cannot apply for a work visa until you’ve actually been offered a job. Despite all that, many people successfully find jobs in the Caribbean and realize their dreams of living in one of the world’s most beautiful places. Instructions 1. Decide where you want to work in the Caribbean. If you’re relocating from another country, consider a few scouting trips to help you choose just the right island. 2. Learn about procedures for obtaining work permits, if you are not a native of the Caribbean. Understand that that there may be limitations on how long you can remain in the country as a tourist while you await approval of your work permit. 3. Begin your job search. Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is nothing like any other middle-eastern holiday you will ever take. It is not somewhere you have to worry about visiting due to political turmoil or crime. In fact, Dubai is a luxurious city and beach destination offering a contrast of east meets west, where the traditional and modern blend in synchronization.
Fascinatingly enough, the city of Dubai was originally a small fishing village which was known for that the city really began to materialize as the commercial hub of the east. The discovery of oil and being a source of pearls. It was not until the late 19th century under the rule of Sheikh Maktoum continued trade saw Dubai develop into the business and tourism giant that it is today.
The city itself has masses to offer that it is hard to know where to begin. Planned tours are often the greatest way to get the most out of your holiday, especially if you are hard-pressed for time. Bus tours are also a far more cost-effective way of getting around than metered taxis. Historical tours, bus tours and shopping tours are offered by tour management companies throughout the city and operate both day and night.
No holiday to Dubai would be complete without an excursion through the numerous souks in Bur Dubai and Diera. Shopping trips are offered morning and afternoon to the most well known souks in the city.

out of the city allow for a more rounded experience of the Emirate, so if you get the chance to experience one they are absolutely recommended. An outing to the tranquil Jebel Ali Beach can simply be done in a day, while trips to the historical town of Hatta, located in the spectacular Hajar Mountains, may require more time due to the fact that there is simply far too much to see in a single day. Popular excursions to areas surrounding Dubai include desert tours and wildlife tours which more often than not include activities like dune driving and camel riding. The more courageous can also indulge in activities such as buggy racing and sand skiing. If you have time to spare, tours into one of Dubai’s adjacent emirates like Sharjah, Abu Dhabi or Fujairah provide for a culturally rich and enthralling experience.
Nightlife in Dubai has improved radically over the years, with bars and restaurants open to the public in many of the hotels; each specialising in a different theme with great success. But beware; although Dubai is one of the few Emirates that allow the sale of alcohol it is illegal to carry alcohol on the street unless you have a licence to do so.

A guide to Dubai hotel reservations
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010Dubai, the crown jewel of the Emirates, is a delicious mixture of sights, flavors and cultures. What makes Dubai a tourist’s paradise is the fact that it has everything – majestic landscape balanced by luxurious consumerism. One the one hand, you are awed by the stunning mountain ranges and the vast expanse of desert and on the other hand, there are malls, fountains, parks, bridges, tunnels, the world’s tallest building – all the trappings of civilization at its best. Therefore, it is only natural that many people visit Dubai for business and pleasure.
Since Dubai is literally a hub of activities in the Middle East, hotel reservations in Dubai are sometimes hard to get, particularly in well positioned areas like the Creek, the Clock Tower and so on. So, if you want the kind of Dubai hotel reservations that you desire, then, you need to consider a number of factors:
Location: This is important in a city where, in spite of amazing infrastructure, traffic snarls are prevalent to some extent. So, if you desire Dubai hotel reservations in coveted areas like the Dubai Creek, you must reserve your rooms early enough.
Ambience: Great hotels in Dubai offer the best in terms of ambience as well as amenities. Therefore, you can expect stunning lobbies, plush interiors, luxurious chandeliers and so on. In fact, Dubai takes great pride in its hospitality. Good hotels offer a number of amenities like AC rooms with individual controls, international dialing facility, in house video channels, Mini bar, WIFI access and so on. These amenities ensure that the hotel you live in is just like your own home – comfortable and congenial.
Fun and frolic: When you make your Dubai hotel reservations, enquire about the activities offered by the hotel. Ideally, you should look for spectacular views, great music, fantastic food and wonderful music. Although tradition in the Middle East does not really endorse a pulsating night life, Dubai is much more flexible in this regard.
Dubai hotel reservations may be made online. Most reputed hotels have a strong online presence and they accept online reservations. However, it is recommended that you make your Dubai hotel reservations fairly early so that you get the rooms of your choice. During peak tourist seasons, rooms are hard to find as tourists flock to this Paradise for shopping festivals and sightseeing.
So, if you are planning a trip to Dubai, why wait for the last minute? Make your reservations now and have a wonderful time in the Pearl of the Orient!

Guide To The Hospitality Industry And Hotel Jobs
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010Guide to the Hospitality Industry and Hotel Jobs
Before you make a life changing job decision such as throwing in your old job,
and possibly relocating for hotel jobs, it is important that you know what the work entails, and what you can expect when applying for hotel jobs in the hospitality industry. There are many reasons why you may want to work in the hospitality industry in a hotel job.
Hospitality is a global industry and there are millions of Hotels, bars, restaurants, resorts, cafes, cruise ships, pubs, fast food outlets and coffee shops making the hospitality industry one the biggest employers on the earth. By gaining hospitality experience you can work anywhere in the world and transfer your skills gained to any industry especially with a hotel job. There are millions of hospitality workers in the world, making it one of the biggest global employers. It has a reputation for low pay and long hours however there is a growing trend of companies becoming more flexible and offering higher rewards to encourage people into the industry and in a hotel job.
Some of the benefits of working in the hospitality industry in a hotel job include gaining valuable skills which will earn you money anywhere in the world, one of the world’s fastest growing sectors, more flexible working hours than your typical 9-5 job, allowing you to fit work around your family responsibilities, you have fun while getting paid, good way to earn extra money and often companies will provide uniforms, meals, pension, incentive programmes.
There are seven simple ways for making the most in the Hotel industry towards a hotel management career. Hospitality is the right career for you if you have excellent organisational skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, working with and for people, are prepared for the long hours and low pay of the hospitality industry.
You will need to establish exactly what do I want to be doing in the future. Do you want to be working towards a hotel management career at a five star hotel, a manager on a cruise ship or run or own your own business.
Have you researched what qualifications will be needed to succeed. Research jobs that interest you and see what qualifications are needed to enter this type of job. You may need to obtain a university degree or complete a catering course for a hotel management career. Will you need work experience. Find out whether doing some work experience while you study will help you get a full-time job. Take advantage of job placements that some universities offer. Should I apply for training programme. Research the job market and the position that you would one day like to be in and whether or not a training programme is the right step for you. Training programmes are a good way to experience all departments of a hotel and to see which department you have a particular interest in including hotel management career. Should you stay within the company. You will need to decide whether it is better for your career to stay within the company or move to another. Hospitality recruiters value diversity and experience, however they do not value those who jump from job to job too often. A good amount of time to stay in the company one year to a year and a half and for hotel management career jobs five to six years. Should you work overseas.
Employers value life experience. If you are working at a small hotel consider transferring to an international hotel chain therefore you may be able to get a transfer overseas or otherwise the hotel will be recognised by overseas employers.
